Golabgiri ("making Rosewater") is a festival celebrating annually from mid-May to mid-June in Kashan and other village near Kashan such as Ghamsar and Niasar.
In this ceremony people celebrate making rosewater and take apart to preparation processes all the way from picking rose flowers, removing leaves from collected flowers, and, pouring flowers into big pots until rosewater is prepared by the traditional method of an evaporation system.
During this festival, one of the rituals is Golghaltan means rolling in flowers. In this custom, parents rolling their babies in large amount of rose. They believe that rolling in flower is very beneficial to the skin health.
During this event, girls and young ladies buy handmade rose made crown and take many photos. Listening to traditional music, dancing, wearing traditional customs, taking photos and sightseeing in Kashan are other common activities during this festival which attracts thousands of tourists to this beautiful city.
