Every traveler loves to travel at a lower cost. I used to make my own get-away vacation packages by simply booking through Airbnb or Expedia and by utilizing train, bus and flight options in-between communities. This has extended my ability to visit more places at a cheaper rate almost 90% of the times than purchasing a pre- made travel package.

Visit Iran during Summer and Winter

1.Visit Iran during Summer and Winter:

Iran is suffering from scarcity of hotels for the number of tourists visiting currently. Hotels are almost full during spring and fall which are known to be the best seasons to travel. However, on the contrary, summers and winters are quite pleasant as for example in Tehran July is the hottest month with an average temperature of 30°C (86°F) and the coldest is January at 4°C (39°F). Therefore traveling in those months will provide you with great prices for your place to stay. (August 6th, 2017 retrieved from:

2.Book traditional boutique guesthouses rather than 5 star hotels

Most historical cities has beautiful antiquated houses with delightful traditional architecture that not only makes it nicer to stay in but also makes it considerably less expensive than residing in a 5star hotel of 200$ cost per night. Some examples are Manouchehri House in Kashan or Sunrise hotel in Isfahan which you can find the review of it in TripAdvisor review page .

3.Use Bus, train or flights in-between cities rather than a taxi

All 3 transport mode of Bus, train and flight are much more affordable than private taxis. Comparatively a taxis will charge you more for long distances.

4.Exchange your money in local exchange offices rather than banks or the airport

Exchange rates for Euro and Dollar are quite volatile in Iran with a daily conversion rate. The official rate of exchange is 26,827, so rather than exchanging your US Dollars at an official bank, you’re much better off heading to a legal street stall and exchanging your money there Use local guides in every city.( August 6TH, 2017 retrieved from : www.goatsontheroad.com/ultimate-guide-backpacking-iran/ ). 5.Use Local Guides

Usually local guides charge a better rate to give their services from 9 to 5 pm. So even if you book your services from a travel agency, you can always request to have different local guides at different cities you are visiting. This way, you don’t have your guide accompanying you between cities, but at least you won’t pay for their lodging in nights. Irancitytour.com can provide you with guides and rates of services if you are interested.

6.Don’t forget to read Lonely Planet book of Iran

Lonely planet book of Iran will give you great insights of great reasonable local spots to dine as well as practical approaches to take advantage of desert safaris and hikes in famous peaks of Iran.

After all, I hope that above points can help you to manage your trip in your desired budget. If you are a solo explorer or you travel in small groups, these tips are for you. Of course these techniques will vary as your group size grows.
